Reflection on Scale Shift Project

The scale shift project was definantly my favorite project (so far). I decided to create a Giant pencil, and to make the pencil look EXTRA big i created a little town base for it. The hardest part for me in this project was getting the paint, and the paint coats absolutly perfect. I put on many coats of paint so the card baord texture wouldn't show. It took me about 3 - 4 hours just to perfectly paint the eraser. Another hard part for me was getting the metal, under the eraser, to stick to the card board. In the end the medal was screwed into the cardboard. My favorite part of this project was getting to see, in the end, how big my project really was! Other than that i did really enjoy the painting of the pencil a lot!

Reflection on finished shoe sculpture

I dont think that the finished product of my shoe was very good. The process of making my shoe looked just as i wanted my shoe to look like, but when i made the toungue for the shoe thats when it started looking bad. I tried to fix it by covering it in glue to give it the right texture and look. It did give the shoe the right texture but it completly ruind the colors of my shoe. so in the end i didnt really like how my shoe turned out at all.

-I do not have a picture of my shoe on the first class

Reflection on shoe sculture in progress

I really enjoy this sculpture project. The hardest thing about this project, i think, is getting the proportions of the shoe correct. I also thikn it is hard to get the texture of the shoe similar to the real one. A succecss i think i have made in this project is getting my shoe to lood relativly real.

My shoe so far- (first class does not work on my computer)

What I know now

I don't know too much about sculpers and typs of sculters. I think that a representational sculpture is a sculpter that is made to represent a real life thing or idea. I think an abstract sculpter is a sculpter made straight from the imagination to epress feeling. If I were to make, another, found object sculpter i would- first- think of what i want to make-two-think of what that thing symbolizes and its texture-and third- I would find things that are around what i was thinking of.

A sculpture I remember

I dont recall any famous sculptures that i can really remember and say that i really liked it, but i can remembere a sculpture. Down my street somewher in Wayland is the house of an old sculpter, she has her old sculpters out in her front lawn. She has an egg and benches and many others. She is a sculpter who uses the earth around her and natural resources to create spectacular sculpters.

My skills as an artist

In art i feel that I am pretty accomplished in the drawing and painting field. I think that my strongest ability in the arts is probably getting things to look like i want them to and if not better from my mind to the paper. But my biggest problem in any type of art is deffinantly my being a perfectionist in art, if i ever make a wrong move in the art work i will immediatly erase it and maybe that will even lad to me erasing the whole drawing.

Why am I taking Intermediate Sculpture?

I decided to take this class for a lot of the same reasons as anyone. But my main reason was to expand my arts sculpture knowledge and ability. I never thought of myself as a sculptr or even close, so I took this class to challenge myself and see if I could sculpt anything i could be really proud of.
